Space Cube, is a “super tiny” computer with a size 2 inch on each side of the cube, and was created by Shimafuji Corporation, with the price of 1500 pounds or $2750. According to PC Pro, the Space Cube has a processor with a 200MHz clock speed, and flash memory on-board 16MB. Operating system using Linux Red Hat, is capable of running on the CompactFlash card with 1GB. In addition, the Space Cube also uses 64MB DDR SDRAM, which is not suitable for use in the desktop PC or even the smallest netbook.

However, One of the interesting thing from Space Cube device is the form of its hardware, namely computer socket, called the Space Wire port that can function as an interface, such as that used in the United States space agency (NASA), Europe (ESA) and Japan (JAXA). When this small hardware is outside the earth atmosphere, the socket will connect sensor and processor unit in it, and run a computing task.

Space Cube made of solid metal, such as plastic prototype, equipped with a USB port and can be used as a hub, by adding three to four ports for keyboard, mouse and so forth. In addition, there are VGA output facilities for monitor connection, and input D-SUB RS232. Space Cube also includes an environment-friendly mini desktop PC, with a power consumption of only 5W. An Ethernet port can also be used to access the Internet, and a pair of jack for speakers and headphones.
